Introducing Aime Guerrero (Bakersfield Office)

Aimee Guerrero joined the H.E.A.R.T.S. Connection team at the first of November 2017.  She is working with families in Bakersfield, Tehachapi, California City, Rosamond, Edwards, Mojave, Boron, Taft, and Maricopa.   Below is a little information that she would like to share with you.

For those of you that I haven't meet I'd like to just let you all know a little about myself. I have been married for 17 years to my husband Bobby, I have three children, a 19 year old daughter named Bayley who is in college to be a nurse, a 15 year old son named Andrew who is in 9th grade, and a 11 year old son named Noah who is in 5th grade. I have lived in Bakersfield for 18 years. I grew up in Fillmore C.

I have been involved in the special needs world my whole life, I volunteered when I was young to work where my mother worked with special needs adults, I grew up with a very close cousin who had special needs, and I married into a family who has specials needs children and relatives.

My son Andrew has special needs as well, he has Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Seizures, is Visually Impaired, and is Emotionally Disturbed. We have been in General Ed, SDC classes, private school, home schooling, Emotionally disturbed classes, and we have been at Aurora and AIM which are very restrictive schools. I am a member of the Kern High School Community Advisory Committee, and recently am joining the Panama Buena Vista CAC as well.

I have been a client of H.E.A.R.T.S. Connection since my son was very young and I am now very proud to be working for H.E.A.R.T.S. Connection.

Be a Hero...One Child at a Time!

H.E.A.R.T.S. Connection Family Resource Center provides emotional and educational support to parents of children who have or are at risk of having a disability.

Our caring staff help parents to understand their children's future which may include hospitalizations, physical therapy, speech therapy and special education.

For example...we lend books from our extensive resource library, facilitate support groups, provide assistance with Individualized Educational Plans (IEP), host sibling activities, and family fun days.

Each of us can "Be a HERO" today. These tough economic times effect non-profit organization at a time when families are struggling and need our assistance more than ever. H.E.A.R.T.S. Connection helps over 600 families each year. Some families need our services a few times a year while others need support on a monthly basis. Please help us continue to provide services to special needs children and their families.

BE A HERO...one child at a time. If we each give what we can, it will make a difference in the lives of these children who face challenges every day. Children are depending on your help. Please give today.
